The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) has announced that its 17th Annual Adventure Convention will be hosted in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, from December 17–20, 2025, a landmark moment that celebrates the revival, resilience, and renaissance of India’s adventure tourism in one of the world’s most breathtaking destinations.
Held in close collaboration with the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, this flagship event will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, experts, and stakeholders from across India to deliberate on the theme: “Indian Adventure Tourism: Safe, Sustainable & Resilient.”
The convention will focus on reviving adventure travel, strengthening safety and sustainability frameworks, and positioning India as a global leader in responsible adventure tourism.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Kashmir’s snow-capped peaks, alpine meadows, and tranquil valleys, the convention embodies a deeper message — that Jammu & Kashmir is open, welcoming, and ready to lead India’s adventure renaissance. The region’s timeless beauty is now complemented by world-class infrastructure, renewed safety standards, and community-driven tourism initiatives, showcasing a harmonious balance between nature, adventure, and progress.
The three-day convention will feature high-impact keynote sessions and panel discussions with leading voices in adventure travel, workshops and masterclasses on safety, innovation, sustainability, and skill development, awards of excellence celebrating best practices and achievements in the adventure sector and an immersive field visit to Pahalgam, showcasing how eco-sensitive adventure tourism can empower local communities while preserving natural heritage.
Speaking post announcement, Ajeet Bajaj, President, ATOAI, remarked: “Hosting our annual convention in Jammu & Kashmir is both symbolic and significant. It reaffirms our belief that adventure in India can be both safe and sustainable, and that J&K stands as a shining example of resilience, beauty, and boundless potential.”
He further added: “Our mission is to position India among the world’s leading adventure destinations — one that respects nature, empowers local people, and ensures every traveller feels inspired, secure, and connected to the land they explore.”
In alignment with ATOAI’s sustainability ethos, the convention will be organized as a net-zero event, aiming to minimise its environmental footprint and promote eco-friendly tourism practices across all aspects of planning and execution.
The 17th ATOAI Adventure Convention will be led by a dynamic team:
