Air India deploys B787-9 for Mumbai-Frankfurt flights from February

Air India operates between Mumbai and Frankfurt five times every week, providing reliable connectivity between the financial hubs of India and Germany.

Air India announced a significant enhancement to its popular Mumbai-Frankfurt route, with the deployment of its newly delivered, first line-fit (or made-for-Air India) B787-9 aircraft featuring new cabin interiors, starting February 1, 2026.

Adding further value for passengers, Air India maintains an active codeshare partnership with Lufthansa, which enables Air India guests to take seamless connections beyond Frankfurt to 29 destinations across Europe and select points in North America and South America.

Air India's optimised flight schedules to Europe allow travellers from Frankfurt and other parts of Europe to take convenient one-stop connections via Delhi or Mumbai to several popular destinations in the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia and Australia, and vice-versa. This enhanced connectivity enables seamless journeys to cities such as Bangkok, Bali, Colombo, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Phuket, and Singapore, making it easier for business and leisure travellers to explore vibrant Asian hubs and beyond.
