Akasa Air appoints Anand Srinivasan as CCO as Praveen Iyer steps down

Srinivasan has over 25 years of experience in India and international markets across commercial and aviation technology.
Akasa Air announced that, Akasa Air’s Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer Praveen Iyer, after a five-year journey, has decided to move on to begin the next chapter of his life. Co-Founder and Chief Information Officer Anand Srinivasan will take on the role of Chief Commercial Officer. Iyer will partner closely with the leadership team to ensure a smooth and structured transition through April 30, 2026.
Commenting on the transition, Vinay Dube, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Akasa Air, said “Praveen has been instrumental in shaping not just Akasa’s commercial vision but the airline itself and translating that ambition into sustained growth. He has built a strong and resilient commercial organisation, nurtured future leaders, and established partnerships and frameworks that continue to support our network expansion and revenue strategy. We are grateful for his leadership, clarity of thought, and long-term perspective during the formative years of the airline. I am deeply grateful to Praveen for his counsel and invaluable contribution in building Akasa and I wish him and his family the very best.”
Under Srinivasan’s leadership, Akasa’s technology team has built robust, scalable, and secure platforms supporting the airline’s rapid expansion. The team has delivered strong capabilities across revenue systems, operational technology, digital products, data, and analytics, creating a foundation that will continue to support Akasa’s growth plans.

Anand has been one of the early architects of Akasa, with deep expertise in commercial and revenue algorithms, including building the revenue management platform that we use today. As Srinivasan takes over his new role, the IT function will report to Akasa Air’s Chief Financial Officer, Ankur Goel. Ankur has a proven track record of building high-performing teams and will help Akasa further the tech legacy that Anand has left behind.
