Upon assuming office, Sinha identified environmental sustainability as a key priority area. Before this, Sinha has served as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies in the Government of Nepal.
Anil Kumar Sinha has formally assumed charge as Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, marking the beginning of a tenure focused on institutional strengthening and sustainable tourism development.
Upon assuming office, Sinha identified environmental sustainability as a key priority area. One of his first official actions was the approval of an action plan focused on cleanliness and conservation in the Himalayan region, reinforcing Nepal’s commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
He highlighted the urgent need to protect fragile mountain ecosystems while balancing tourism growth, signalling continuity with Nepal’s long-term sustainability objectives.
He also indicated that his initial focus will be on addressing internal challenges within the Ministry, strengthening coordination among departments and subordinate agencies, and improving institutional efficiency and governance.
The Nepal Tourism Board has also extended its congratulations and conveyed its readiness to work closely with the Ministry under his leadership to enhance Nepal’s global tourism competitiveness.
Notably, in his previous role, Sinha has served as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies in the Government of Nepal.
