UP Cabinet approves 3 key proposals of Tourism Department
This initiative aims to further enhance the overall experience of pilgrims, tourists and students.
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday approved three proposals of the Tourism Department, giving a major boost to cultural, wellness and administrative capacity-building in the state. The decisions include the establishment of a world-class Temple Sanghralaya in Ayodhya, the introduction of the Uttar Pradesh Adheenasth Paryatan Seva Niyamawali 2025 and the setting up of an International Yoga and Wellness Centre in Baghpat.
The first proposal clears the way for a Mandir Sanghralaya on 52.102 acres of designated land in Ayodhya. The project will be developed with the participation of Tata Group through CSR support. The Sanghralaya is intended to serve as a dedicated space where visitors can understand the depth of Indian temple architecture, cultural heritage and the spiritual legacy of Ayodhya in an organised and engaging manner. It will have spacious galleries, landscaped areas, curated exhibition halls and digital interpretation spaces.
The second proposal approved by the Cabinet is the Uttar Pradesh Adheenasth Paryatan Seva Niyamawali 2025. The rules specify sanctioned posts for Publication Officers, Deputy or District Tourism Officers and Tourism Information Officers. UPPSC will conduct officer-level selections and UPSSSC will handle information and field-level appointments. With defined qualifications and service conditions, the new process will support smoother tourism operations and better visitor assistance across the state.
Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh said that the Yogi Government aims to establish Ayodhya as a global centre of culture and devotion supported by world-class facilities. He also noted that the new recruitment rules and the International Yoga and Wellness Centre will help tourism services function with better efficiency, accountability and responsiveness
