The Delhi Government, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has unveiled the Tourism and Heritage Fellowship Programme—a one‑year initiative aimed at engaging youth in preserving and promoting Delhi’s rich cultural heritage.
Under this, up to 40 young professionals (below 35 years) will be selected every year. Each fellow receives INR 50,000 per month throughout the year‑long fellowship.
Applicants must be under 35, hold at least a graduate degree (tourism-related qualifications preferred), and possess a minimum of one year’s experience in tourism or related fields. Proficiency in English, Hindi, and digital skills is required.
Fellows will support heritage walks, guided tours, content creation, tourism marketing, event coordination, operations at attractions like Delhi Haat and Garden of Five Senses, film‑shoot facilitation, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) activities, and managing tourist information centres.
As per an official report, the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) will oversee the program.
The initiative aligns with the "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" vision—promoting local talent and reducing dependence on external consultants.
Upon successful completion, fellows will receive a certificate, and the first cohort is expected to start training later this year.
