Dr. Srivatsa Krishna joins as new Secretary, Ministry of Tourism

He succeeds V. Vidyavathi, IAS (1991 batch), who has been moved to take charge as Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
In a recent bureaucracy reshuffle, the Government of India has announced the appointment of Dr. Srivatsa Krishna, IAS (Karnataka cadre, 1994 batch) as the new Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism. He succeeds V. Vidyavathi, IAS (1991 batch), who has been moved to take charge as Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
Dr. Krishna brings a strong academic and administrative background. He holds a postgraduate degree in International Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, a PhD in Management from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and an MBA from Harvard University. He has also worked as Secretary, Commerce & Industry in Karnataka, holding positions in Urban Administration & Development, e-Governance, and has experience with the World Bank Group.
The appointment is part of a broader reshuffle of secretary-level positions approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
