FAITH and AWPO to Sign MoU for placement of Army Veterans in Tourism & Hospitality Sector

These technical skills are further strengthened by hallmark Armed Forces attributes such as leadership, discipline, teamwork and high dependability.

The Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism & Hospitality (FAITH) is set to collaborate with the Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO) to create meaningful employment opportunities for Army veterans across the tourism value chain.

In a joint meeting, AWPO shared detailed insights into the skills and experience of over 2 lakh ex-servicemen, war widows and dependants registered in their national database. These veterans bring expertise across diverse organisational functions including supply chain, logistics, planning, communications, engineering, catering and administration — with qualifications ranging from vocational certifications to PhDs.

Major General Ajay Singh Chauhan (Retd), MD AWPO, highlighted that its candidates are deployable across industries and organisational levels from junior roles to senior management supported by its network of 18 regional offices and a fully operational placement website.

FAITH Vice Chairman Ajeet Bajaj noted that the next step is the formal signing of an MoU between FAITH and AWPO. He added that this partnership will pave the way for structured placement opportunities for veterans across tourism, travel and hospitality businesses. “It will be a win-win for both Armed Forces veterans and the tourism and hospitality sector. These veterans will gain access to suitable jobs, while the industry will benefit from highly trained and disciplined personnel — a quality workforce that the sector greatly needs,” he said.
