India records 42.63 Lakh foreign tourist arrivals till June 2025

India has recorded 42.63 lakh foreign tourist arrivals (FTAs) during the first two quarters of 2025 (January - June), according to official data released by the Bureau of Immigration. The figures were shared in a written reply by Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
The quarterly breakdown shows 26.15 lakh FTAs in Q1 (January - March) and 16.48 lakh FTAs in Q2 (April - June), signalling a steady inflow of international visitors into the country for the first half of the year.
In addition to the arrival figures, the Bureau of Immigration reported the issuance of 31.74 lakh e-visas to tourists from November 1, 2024, to November 30, 2025, reflecting continued interest among global travellers to visit India.
During the calendar year 2024, India registered 99.52 lakh Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) and 29481.91 lakh Domestic Tourist Visits (DTVs). The top source countries for FTAs in 2024, led by the United States (18,04,586), Bangladesh (17,50,165), the United Kingdom (10,22,587), Australia (5,18,205), and Canada (4,76,273).
