INR 11.77 Cr approved for eco-tourism park in Chitrakoot

UP Eco-Tourism Development Board to construct this park near Ranipur Tiger Reserve, covering an area of 7 acres.

An eco-tourism-themed park will be developed in Chitrakoot, aiming to make it a major centre for not only religious and spiritual tourism but also nature tourism. The Uttar Pradesh Eco-Tourism Development Board will construct this park near Ranipur Tiger Reserve, covering an area of seven acres. A budget of INR 11.77 crore has been approved for the project, out of which INR 5 crore has already been released.

Speaking about the development of the park, Uttar Pradesh Minister of Tourism and Culture, Jaiveer Singh said, “The theme park will provide tourists with an immersive experience of enjoying nature while promoting eco-tourism. Designed with a strong focus on environmental conservation, the park will also contribute to strengthening the regional economy. Modern eco-lodges with advanced facilities will be built for visitors. Additionally, a fragrant plant garden, a dedicated food court featuring local delicacies, and beautiful water bodies to enhance biodiversity will also be developed.”

The park will feature a central lawn, gardens, a play area for children, and a specialised track for exercising. Other attractions will include a nature trail, a bamboo garden, an amphitheatre for cultural and entertainment programs, and a rock garden made from natural stone formations. A butterfly garden and an adventure play zone will be key highlights, offering visitors a more enriching experience.

The Tourism and Culture Minister emphasised that the development of this park will lead to an increase in the number of tourists visiting Chitrakoot and create new employment opportunities for the local population.
