The Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA) has imposed a complete ban on the use and carrying of polythene and other plastic items across all tourist destinations and environmentally sensitive zones falling under its jurisdiction. The order has come into force with immediate effect according to news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC)
According to an order issued by Chief Executive Officer PDA, Mir Nasrool Hilal Jeri (JKAS) as per news agency KNC, plastic bags, chips packets, plastic bottles, canned drinks, plastic crockery and other non-biodegradable items have been banned at tourist hotspots, parks, river banks, streams, forest areas, residential and commercial zones, religious places and along the Yatra route within the PDA limits.
