Tourists injured in Pahalgam terror attack; CM strongly condemns the act

At least 12 tourists were injured in a suspected terrorist attack at Baisaran, a popular meadow in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir. Gunshots were reportedly heard in the area, which was experiencing a booming tourism season, triggering panic among visitors and prompting a swift response from security forces.
Condemning the attack in strong terms, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, who also handles the tourism portfolio, expressed deep anguish and vowed swift action. “I’m shocked beyond belief. This attack on our visitors is an abomination. The perpetrators of this attack are animals, inhuman and worthy of contempt. No words of condemnation are enough. I send my sympathies to the families of the deceased,” he said, adding that he was returning to Srinagar immediately to oversee the situation.
