On World Heritage Day, April 18, 2025, Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (UPSTDC) is organising special heritage walks across five cities of the state, including Varanasi, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Jhansi, and Agra.
Speaking at the launch of the heritage walk and tour packages, Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said “The goal is to connect people, especially youth, with the state’s rich historical and cultural heritage. Through these heritage walks, participants will explore the architectural marvels, historical significance, and vibrant culture of these cities. The events will include expert-guided tours, cultural performances, and local cuisine tastings. The broader aim is not only to boost tourism but also to spread awareness about heritage conservation.”
The heritage walks will be conducted by UPSTDC’s Travel Division today. Trained guides will lead the heritage walk, taking the participants through key historical sites. In addition to historical narratives, tourists are expected to get experience of local folk art, crafts, and culinary traditions. Special packages have been curated for each location, covering transport, guide services, entry tickets, and refreshments.
