Zo World appoints Aviral Gupta as CEO & Dharamveer Singh as Chairman

Zo World announced a leadership transition with key appointments. Aviral Gupta, a team member of Zostel and the founding force behind Zo World—has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Zostel’s co-founder, Dharamveer Singh Chouhan will now serve as Chairman of the Zo World Group, focusing on long-term vision, global expansion, and institutionalising the philosophy that defines Zo Community.
This move comes at a pivotal moment for the company as it scales its presence across India and Southeast Asia, expands into new verticals, and builds a technology-driven platform to serve the next generation of travellers, creators, and communities.
Gupta’s elevation is the culmination of a planned succession mapped over three years. His journey with Zostel spans every critical function—from hostel launches and product design to community operations, technology, and financial strategy. In recent years, he has played a central role in strengthening the company’s unit economics, unlocking new revenue streams, and accelerating the scale-up of Zo World’s newer business verticals.
Speaking about his appointment, Aviral Gupta, CEO, Zo World said, “Zo World has never just been about places—it’s about people, philosophy, and finding meaning in movement. Under his leadership, the group is targeting 10,000 beds across 100+ Zostels by 2026. Zo Trips, the fastest-scaling vertical according to the officials, is building immersive, end-to-end travel experiences with a INR 1,500 crore annual GMV ambition. Zo Villas is capturing high-margin demand in the premium vacation rental segment, with over 300 properties in the pipeline. Zo Houses introduces tech-enabled co-living hubs designed for founders, artists, and global nomads.
Dharamveer Singh Chouhan, has been the philosophical backbone of the brand, now takes on the role of Chairman to guide Zo World’s evolution into a generational company. He will focus on bringing together shared vision partners, strengthening the founder network globally, and scaling Zo’s mission of building a world without borders—rooted in the Indian ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
