ABU DHABI AGGRESSIVELY PROMOTES SUMMER SEASON

In order to further push visitor numbers from India, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) has come out with an attractive marketing campaign - ‘Abu Dhabi Summer Season’ to promote the summer season in India, informed Bejan Dinshaw, Country Manager – India, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority.
TCA Abu Dhabi’s India office has become quite active and strengthening its ties and work in close conjunction with the travel trade to promote the destination. “We are currently highlighting Abu Dhabi Summer Season jointly with four travel partners namely Expedia, TUI India, Bonton Tours and Mercury Travels. We are also undertaking joint destination familiarization trips and marketing initiatives with our national carrier Etihad Airways,” Dinshaw said.
As part of the Summer Season promotion, TCA Abu Dhabi’s India Office is promoting some of the unique tourism products such as Yas Island and its many headline attractions : Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, YasWaterworld aqua park, Yas Links golf course, Yas Beach, Yas Marina Circuit and soon-to-open Yas Mall. Moreover, Saadiyat Island, Al Maryah Island, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara are also being promoted in India, he informed.
Interestingly, TCA Abu Dhabi’s India Office’s travel partners are also very excited about the promotion of the Summer Season. “I With the great offerings that Abu Dhabi Summer Season has, it will surely be of immense interest to the Indian consumer considering this is the peak time for Indian outbound travel,” Vikram Malhi, GM South & Southeast Asia, Expedia, said.
With TUI India, TCA Abu Dhabi India Office has rolled out a a month- long mall branding exercise at Select City Walk, Delhi along with store branding for two of TUI’s flagship retail stores in Delhi and Mumbai, shared Vishal Sinha, COO, TUI India.
Bonton Tours, on the other hand, has targeted tier-II cities for this promotion. It recently conducted a 15-city exclusive Abu Dhabi roadshow to promote the destination among trade partners in tier-II cities. “The recent roadshow that was concluded by Bonton Tours witnessed a lot of enquiries from Madurai, Lucknow, Varanasi, Coimbatore, Rajkot among others,” Arun Hattangadi, COO, Bonton Tours, said.
Mercury Travels is going full thrust on print media promotions with leading mainline newspapers. “Abu Dhabi is truly a great destination for an unforgettable holiday” said Ashwini Kakkar, Executive Vice-Chairman, Mercury Travels.
