AITTC INKS MOU WITH OTOAI

In an attempt to facilitate bilateral travel between Australia and India, Australia India Travel and Tourism Council (AITTC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI). Under this MoU, AITTC and OTOAI shall work together to benefit both sets of their members and focus on implementing joint activities and to promote mutual growth.
Shanker Dhar, Vice Chairman, AITTC; KK Gupta, Member of Executive Committee, AITTC; SanJeet, Founder Member, AITTC; Guldeep Singh Sahni, President, OTOAI; Riaz Munshi, Vice President, OTOAI; Shravan Bhalla, General Secretary, OTOAI; Rajeev Sabharwal, Head – Finance and Events, OTOAI, and Punam Singh, Executive Director, OTOAI were present during the signing of the MoU.
Dhar said, “As Australia and India are major tourism generating markets for each other, sharing about half a million tourists, AITTC and OTOAI joining hands is a significant development and shall give further boost to the growth and development of tourism between India and Australia. India is already one of the fastest growing source markets for Australia and has moved three places up to become its eighth largest market. We at AITTC see this MoU as an instrument of enhancing cooperation between the two organisations and working together in multiple areas of mutual interest including knowledge sharing, networking and marketing activities. The resultant synergy shall enhance tourism business relationships and also promote better understanding of tourism assets and resources of the two exciting destinations.”
Speaking at the event, Sahni said, “With this MoU, the main agenda is to provide Australia more information regarding the top performing segments, the traveller type and travel shows in which they can participate to enhance the tourism between India and Australia.”
