Cross Border Tourism Conclave in Nepalgunj enhances regional tourism prospect
Cross Border Tourism Conclave
The initiative is expected to play a key role in deepening regional tourism ties and enhancing cross-border travel between Nepal and India.
The Nepal–India Cross-Border Tourism Conclave was held in Nepalgunj with the aim of strengthening tourism cooperation between the two neighbouring countries. The three-day conclave brought together tourism stakeholders, policymakers, security agencies, and private sector representatives from both sides to address cross-border challenges and unlock new opportunities.
The event focused on improving travel facilitation, easing border-related issues, and positioning Nepalgunj not merely as a transit point but as a vibrant tourism destination in its own right—particularly for religious, cultural, wellness, and regional tourism.
Speaking at the program, Nepal Tourism Board CEO Deepak Raj Joshi emphasised the potential of cross-border collaboration to boost wedding tourism, wellness tourism, and nature-based experiences in Nepal.
The conclave featured panel discussions, B2B meetings, experience-sharing sessions, and cultural programs, fostering stronger partnerships between Nepali and Indian tourism businesses.
