ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES UNVEILS NEW FOUNDATION

Ethiopian Airlines has announced the legal formation and official registration of a new Charity organisation. The name of the Charity is officially registered as ‘The Ethiopian Airlines Foundation (EAF)’. The Patron of the new Foundation is the Group CEO, Tewolde Gebremariam, while the Board Chairperson is Busera Awol, the CCO, and the Founding General Manager of the Foundation is Wasihun Asres who pursued the cause since 2009 till its realisation today.

While congratulating all for the inauguration of the foundation, Gebremariam said, “This Foundation is the first of its kind in the history of Ethiopian Airlines and will be served as a charity arm of the Airline to implement our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in a more structured and organised manner. Our support to the community will be much more integrated now than ever. The fact that our Foundation has been registered and received license is a big opportunity to explore a wide range of needy people in the community and extend our support. I would like to hereby invite all management members and employees of the Airline to actively participate in supporting the Foundation either by contributing in the form of regular payroll deductions from their monthly salaries, giving donations and pledges, fund raising and other possible ways.”
