IATO AND HOTEL JANPATH ORGANISE CLEAN INDIA PROGRAMME

India Tourism and Development Corporation (ITDC) and the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) recently launched a “Clean India” programme at the Janpath Hotel in Delhi. As part of the initiative, surrounding areas and the back lane of the hotel, which are often frequented by tourists and require constant cleaning, were selected as the focus for the cleanliness drive.
Speaking on the occasion Subhash Goyal, President, IATO said, “Tourism is our industry that needs the least amount of investment yet brings the highest returns in the shortest time. To succeed, the industry requires a political will at the highest level. It also needs a clean destination. Prime Minister’s call to create a “Clean India of Gandhiji’s dream” is also our objective and IATO has taken this on Mission Mode.”
Also present on the occasion were Sujata Thakur, General Manager, Corporate Marketing and Sale (ITDC); R.K. Sharma, General Manager, Hotel Janpath and other esteemed members of IATO and Hotel Janpath. Sharma said “We are extremely proud of undertaking such an initiative and lending a helping hand towards this cleanliness drive. We will contribute all our efforts towards the mission of our Prime Minister for a cleaner India.”
In-house guests of Hotel Janpath also showed an overwhelming response by participating in the Clean India Campaign.
