IATO EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE CALL ON NEW TOURISM SECRETARY

Subhash Goyal, President, Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) called on Lalit Panwar, new Secretary (Tourism) along with Executive Committee members to express happiness on his taking over the charge of the Ministry. “It is like a home coming,” said Panwar.

Goyal highlighted the two major issues mainly related to e-visa and service tax. Though on the first issue, very soon there will be official announcement but tour operators need his support to get the service tax issue resolved as this is making India holiday packages cost prohibitive, IATO profusely thanked the Ministry for the support extended to make E-Visa reality.

“IATO proposes to have a special launching of the E-Visa authorisation to express its happiness and inform globally as the news will bring real boost to tourism. We can expect growth in double digit on its implementation. I am here to give my services and I will do my best. The Secretary has assured us that his doors are always open for his friends from the travel fraternity,” added Goyal.
