Israel terms Goa a favoured tourism destination

A 20-member delegation led by Deputy Chief Minister of Goa, Francis D’Souza,  along with Minister of Tourism, Dilip Parulekar, met the Tourism Minister of Israel, Uzi Landau in Jerusalem recently to promote Goa Tourism.  This delegation showcased the state of Goa before the Landau by means of a presentation. Parulekar also invited Landau with his delegation to visit Goa.

In his statement during the meeting, Lundau said that the people of Israel have chosen Goa as a favoured destination for tourism and he would like to build a very healthy relationship between the two countries. He added that he would take special measures to promote Goa in Israel and would appoint a nodal officer from his ministry to be a contact person for Goa Tourism. This would help in knowledge and experience sharing between Israel and Goa for the benefit of promoting hinterland tourism too.

The Israeli’s Tourism Minister further assured Parulekar that he would try to establish scheduled direct flights from Israel to Goa for the benefit of tourists who will be interested in religious tourism.

Mangirish Raikar who led the Chambers in this 20-member delegation made the presentation and mooted that idea that special packages for the benefit of tourists can be worked out, especially for those who are interested in religious tourism. Francisco Braganca, the President of the TTAG was also a part of the delegation.
