MAKEMYTRIP LAUNCHES PHUKET CHARTER

With Indian outbound numbers to Thailand touching the figure of 800,000 in 2010, MakeMyTrip recently launched the direct charter flights inclusive holiday packages from Delhi to Phuket. This was the first ever such direct connectivity between Delhi and Phuket. These packages are launched in association with the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Elaborating on the launch, Mohit Gupta, CMO, MakeMyTrip.com said, “Indian travelers have developed a keen sense of adventure and want to explore newer destinations. Thailand is a key attraction for Indians, but their reach is restricted to Bangkok and Pattaya. We want to offer and promote Phuket as the next tourism highlight in Thailand.” Through this association, we will be able to offer direct connectivity from Delhi to Phuket, without having to travel via Bangkok, he added. “It is an historic occasion for both the Thai and Indian tourism industries. Not only will these charter flights be hugely important to Phuket’s economy, but it will help to bring the peoples of India and Thailand that much closer,” Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) New Delhi Office, said adding that TAT has extended its full support to MakeMyTrip on all of its activities to promote Thailand to its clients. Kingfisher Airlines is the airlines partner for the MakeMyTrip. The packages start at an attractive price of Rs. 43,999/- per person and includes 7N/8D itinerary for Phuket, Pattaya and Bangkok
