Moustache expands its footprint in Leopard Hotspot Jawai

The Jawai property marks the first of 25 new planned openings by 2027.

Hospitality company Moustache is set to inaugurate a new property under its premium sub-brand Luxuria in Jawai, Rajasthan. The Jawai property marks the first of 25 new planned openings by 2027, as the company plans to expand its presence across key destinations, including Rishikesh and Nainital in Uttarakhand, Bir, Dalhousie and Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, Gangtok in Sikkim, and Lonavala in Maharashtra under its various verticals.

Moustache currently operates over 33 properties across 11 states, with 5 properties under its highest revenue generating vertical, Luxuria.

Luxury tourism was valued at $72.4 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $123.8 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 9.8%. Experts believe that the sector’s momentum is being fuelled by rising domestic demand, a preference for personalised and immersive experiences, and an influx of international visitors seeking cultural depth and sustainability.

Reflecting on the choice of location, Abhishek Khandelwal, Co-founder and Director of Moustache, commented, “Jawai is a fascinating intersection of heritage and eco-tourism. Unlike most national parks, it isn’t a designated tiger reserve but a living landscape where humans and leopards coexist in harmony. The leopards have made caves in granite hills their home, while local shepherds continue to live alongside them with remarkable tolerance. This unique relationship makes Jawai a global model of coexistence and conservation, and we wanted Luxuria to celebrate this story through design, hospitality, and experience.”

Speaking about the amenities of their new property, Deepak Agarwal, Co-founder and Director of Moustache, added, “Our upcoming Luxuria property in Jawai is designed with 9 cottages, each reflecting the rustic elegance and natural beauty of the region. With the capacity to accommodate around 25 guests, the estate will offer curated safaris, local culinary journeys, and wellness-focused stays that immerse travellers in the rhythm of Jawai’s landscape. Every element, be it the architecture or service is crafted to deliver a personalized and meaningful experience.”

With the company projected to clock ₹100 crore in revenue by 2027, a major share of this growth is reportedly driven by the Luxuria segment.
