MUNICH TOURIST OFFICE HOLDS MULTI-CITY ROADSHOW

The Munich Tourist Office has announced its plan to attract increasing number of Indian travellers to the city in a series of roadshows held in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi. The roadshows served as a platform to showcase Munich’s innovative tourism product offerings for leisure, corporate meetings and incentive travels from India.

A delegation comprising tourism officials and representatives from the Munich Airport met the travel trade from these cities and shared their insights on Munich’s various attractions and facilities as a tourist destination.

"Buzz Travel Marketing India, our representative of Munich Tourism, gave us a very warm reception when we arrived in India. It was a great pleasure for us to present you our vibrant city of Munich. India is an important market for us with a growth by over 12 per cent to 83000 overnights per year (2013). We are looking forward to some more numbers of Indian visitors coming to Munich and enjoying our city," said Karin Baedeker, In-Charge of Marketing and Media Relations, Munich Tourist Office.

Corinna Bonn, Munich Airport said, "For Indian travellers, Munich Airport is an ideal gateway to the Alpine Region, Europe and beyond. Munich Airport is happy to be voted "Best Airport in Europe 2014" and "3rd Airport in the World" (Skytrax World Airport Awards 2014). We continuously try to improve our service portfolio to satisfy our passengers and meet their demands. Since, so far, only 38 per cent of our Indian guests are leisure travellers and 75 per cent are in transit at Munich Airport, we see a great potential for the Indian travel industry in the next years to develop and sell Munich and Bavaria as popular tourist destination- offering a unique variety of alpine scenery, royal castles and vibrant city life.”
