New Terminal of Donyi Polo Airport at Itanagar inaugurated

Until now, airport operations were being managed from a temporary facility, as the state government prioritised early functionality after the airport’s completion in 2022. The new terminal building will have an enhanced capacity of 15 lakh annual passengers.

Arunachal Pradesh has its new terminal building at Donyi Polo Airport, Hollongi, Itanagar inaugurated this week. The facility was operationalised in the presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu and Chief Minister, Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu.

Until now, airport operations were being managed from a temporary facility, as the state government prioritised early functionality after the airport’s completion in 2022. The new Terminal Building with an enhanced capacity of 15 lakh annual passengers and lotus shaped design stands as a symbol of prosperity and growth for Arunachal Pradesh.

With the launch of this modern terminal, the focus extends beyond infrastructure development to significantly enhancing the quality of life for the people of Arunachal Pradesh, said Khandu in his social media post.

The new terminal will ensure greater convenience for students travelling for education, entrepreneurs reaching new markets, and families accessing healthcare in major cities. This development brings comfort, connectivity, and opportunity closer to the people, with improved air connectivity in the region.
