Strengthening its outreach across key Indian source markets, the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA), in partnership with TBO Academy, hosted an exclusive destination showcase in Hyderabad, engaging 130+ travel trade partners from the region. The event focused on deepening destination knowledge, improving sellability, and reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a high-potential outbound destination for Indian travellers.
The presentation outlined Saudi Arabia’s evolving tourism landscape, anchored by its iconic Golden Triangle—Riyadh, Jeddah, and AlUla. Riyadh was positioned as a fast-evolving global capital driven by entertainment, MICE, and mega-events. Jeddah was showcased as a culturally rich Red Sea city offering heritage districts, coastal experiences, and urban leisure. AlUla emerged as a standout for culture-led travel, combining UNESCO-listed Hegra with dramatic desert landscapes such as Elephant Rock.
The session also expanded beyond the core circuit, introducing trade partners to Taif, Aseer, and Al-Baha—destinations gaining attention for their temperate weather, mountain scenery, and immersive local culture. Saudi Arabia’s premium tourism ambitions were further reinforced through Red Sea Global, highlighting the country’s entry into sustainable ultra-luxury travel.
From a sales and access perspective, the showcase emphasised growing connectivity from Hyderabad through four airline partners—IndiGo, Air Arabia, flynas, and Saudia—offering multiple routing options into the Kingdom. Visa facilitation remained a key highlight, with Indian travellers able to choose from Tourist Visa, eVisa, Visa on Arrival, and Stopover Visa, enabling seamless trip planning.
Agents were also briefed on Saudi Arabia’s expanding annual events calendar, including Riyadh Season, MDLBEAST, and AlUla’s cultural programming, positioning the destination as relevant across leisure, entertainment, and experiential travel segments throughout the year.
Complementing the destination update, TBO Academy showcased its trade support ecosystem, featuring structured learning modules, market-ready itineraries, and incentive-driven initiatives designed to accelerate agent confidence and conversions. Engagement-led giveaways and performance recognition programmes added further value to the session.
