Turespaña organizes media meet to promote festivals

In an attempt to draw more Indian visitors to Spain, Spain Tourism has started promoting and marketing its various festivals in India. The Tourism Office of Spain in India (Turespaña) recently organized a press meet in New Delhi to make the media acquainted with the various Spanish festivities through an interactive audio-visual presentation about some of the special festivals celebrated throughout the year in Spain.

The event began with a wine-tasting session with an Indian Sommelier. A Flamenco-Kathaa performance was another experience that showcased a peculiar connection between India and Spain. It was much appreciated amongst the guests present. The guests also tasted some Spanish tapas like patatas bravas, pinchos de pollo, lamb albondigas alongwith some Spanish red and white wines already available and sold in India.

¨Spain is definitely a great place for Indians, and we have more and more tourists from India coming toexperience the unique culture. We love to celebrate and we love colours, like Indians. The festivals of La Tomatina and Running of the Bulls (San Fermines) are already famous in India, but we have much more to offer, so come and enjoy, live and love Spain,” concluded Miguel Nieto-Sandoval San Segundo, the current director of the Tourism Office of Spain in India and Abu Dhabi who also announced that a new Director for India would take over in September this year.
