VISITBRITAIN’S GREAT TOURISM WEEK VISITS SOUTH INDIA

VisitBritain’s GREAT Tourism Week starts across southern India this week. The delegation will visit Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai. The event is a new tourism roadshow organised by the national tourist board for local travel trade and UK tourism suppliers to meet and generate more business for Britain.
Leading the roadshow, Patricia Yates, Director Strategy & Communications, VisitBritain said, “The fantastic engagement strategy we’ve been undertaking with the trade has meant that India is now Britain’s biggest BRIC market – but this must be built on. We’re putting the best of the Indian travel trade in front of key British suppliers, which is crucial for us to deliver our tourism targets. The GREAT Tourism Week roadshow will enable VisitBritain to engage effectively with the Indian travel trade, create lots of new business, and introduce new British tourism products to Indian travellers.”
The three day event will feature a special series of meetings to provide Indian travel agents and tour operators with a platform to engage and forge business ties with over 16 high profile UK tourism suppliers such as Globus & Cosmos, British Airways, Trafalgar Tours and Tourism Ireland. It also gives VisitBritain the opportunity to promote Britain’s tourism offering and discuss the possibility of developing new bookable products and packages for the Indian visitor.
