Philippines revises visa-free entry rules for Indians; move to boost its travel demand

Under the new policy, Indian tourists can now avail of two distinct visa-free entry options including the 14-Day Visa-Free entry as well as for 30 days. India is notably, one of the fastest-growing source markets for Philippines, and this policy reform is expected to significantly boost inbound arrivals.
In a move set to strengthen tourism and bilateral ties with India, the Philippines has introduced revised visa-free entry rules for Indian nationals, offering greater flexibility and simplified travel procedures. The changes, which came into effect in May 2025, are expected to enhance travel demand and position the Philippines as a more accessible destination for Indian travellers.
Under the new policy, Indian tourists can now avail of two distinct visa-free entry options including the 14-Day Visa-Free Entry. Here, the Indian nationals can visit the Philippines without a visa for up to 14 days. To qualify for the 14-day visa-free entry to the Philippines, Indian travellers must meet specific criteria: the purpose of travel must be solely for tourism; the traveller must hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay; and provide proof of confirmed accommodation such as hotel bookings. Additionally, visitors are required to show evidence of sufficient financial means—like recent bank statements or an employment certificate—and must present a confirmed return or onward ticket. Applicants should also have no negative immigration history with the Philippines. Notably, this option is non-extendable and cannot be converted to other visa types, making it ideal for short holidays or weekend trips.
In another option for a 30-Day Visa-Free Entry for Visa Holders of select countries, the Indian passport holders who possess valid visas or permanent residency in countries under the AJACSSUK group—Australia, Japan, America (United States), Canada, Schengen countries, Singapore, and the United Kingdom—are eligible for a 30-day visa-free stay.
This provision targets travellers with established international travel histories and aligns with broader regional tourism facilitation goals, as also stated in an official statement by the Philippines Embassy. Entry is allowed through all major airports, seaports, and cruise terminals.
Also, the e-visa system for Indian citizens will continue to remain operational for those who do not qualify under the visa-free categories. Applications can still be made through existing online channels.
