By comparison, the city saw 5.76 crore visitors in 2023, which grew to 16.44 crore in 2024. Ayodhya is not only a sacred site, it is becoming a global symbol of cultural and spiritual resurgence, said Minister Jaiveer Singh.

The TIPC will serve as a dedicated platform to evaluate and approve tourism projects with an investment of INR 50 crore and above. It will be chaired by Chief Minister and supported by an Investment Promotion Cell within the Department of Tourism.

“This initiative is aligned with the state’s broader goal of achieving a one trillion dollar economy,” said Jaiveer Singh, Tourism and Culture Minister.

The institute will soon commence training classes for guides based in Varanasi and Kannauj.

The newly introduced digital system, as per an official notice, is designed to ease congestion and improve the travel experience, especially during weekends and peak tourist seasons.

The state witnessed 51.84 lakh domestic visitors, 2.71 lakh international tourists in H1 2025.

Under this, up to 40 young professionals (below 35 years) will be selected every year. Each fellow receives INR 50,000 per month throughout the year‑long fellowship. DTTDC will oversee the programme.
